Use nslookup to check the NS propagation via other available open nameservers.

nslookup domain.com @<other ns IP>

ex:
Google DNS:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

OpenDNS:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

The ns cache on your laptop usually takes longer to propagate as they keep caches of previously resolved domain names for an extended period of time so it'll be faster to check againsts other ns.
