Error: corrupted or damaged boot.ini file

Cause: Boot.ini file is a hidden files that can be corrupted by several reason.

Solution:

Enter Windows XP recovery Console
At the command line
- bootcfg /rebuild
- [Enter]
When prompt ask "Add installation to boot list?"
- Y
- [Enter]
When prompt "Enter load identifier"
- Windows XP Professional"
- [Enter]
When prompt ask "Enter OS Load Option"
- /Fastdetect
- [Enter]
Take out CD and [Enter] to restart
Done
