This announce is a report to the finding for network slow and outage during 25/08/2011 - 26/08/2011.Nocser made an report to EBB (our local transit supplier) on 25/08/2011 1600 hours. Enclosed here are the report from our Local Transit Partner
Fault Description
Service outage suffered by NOCSER was due to routing issue between EBB and TM as reported by the service provider, causing network disruptions.

Detected DDOS attack from TM network to EBB network. This DDOS attack causing our domestic traffic fully utilized and high CPU utilization on the router. |
25/08/2011 at 1626 hrs |
Swing the route from TM to different trunk and causing the high latency from TM to our network. In the meantime, the DDOS attack to EBB network is still ongoing. |
26/08/2011 at 0900 hrs |
The DDOS attack has been mitigate and traffic restored back to normal. Monitor the traffic before reroute the traffic back to normal. |

Reroute back the traffic to shortest path and traffic to NOCSER has restored back to normal. |

EBB Helpdesk has confirmed the link is stable. Informed customer about the link restoration. |
Fault Report Summary
Service outage suffered by NOCSER was due to DDOS attack and this might as well causing the route from EBB to TM to longer path. The link was restored after the DDOS has been mitigated. Latency has back to normal after we reroute the traffic to shorter path.
