Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy (IRTP) means if there is a change in the registrant contact of a domain IRTP gets triggered (please note that this is only applicable for change in registrant contact of a domain) so in this case you will receive a mail on the old or new registrant id and once both the old and the new registrant id verify the mail registrant contact of the domain will then get modified.
